About Odd Hours Day Care....

Mission Statement

Child Care Information & Referral ServicesMy mission statement is to have a safe and caring place for the children to develop life long skills in social environments and in problem solving. We are here to have fun and to use our creative abilities in a positive way. I love children. We are a family atmosphere where children can trust and feel secure. I will provide a Christian atmosphere helping children learn how to treat others with respect, and how to solve the problems with interactions of each other to respond in a positive way and learn how to care about each other. Each is unique in what God has given us, and our potentials are unlimited. We will work on building a foundation of self- confidence in learning new things and creating goals of success. My business is a professional business where I will strive to nurture children’s minds and hearts.

Hours of Operation

Welcome to my website, I am a grandmother raising my grandchild who has opened her home to Home Day Care. My hours of operation are from Monday-Thursday 20 hrs. and on Friday I close at 6pm. No week-ends. I am in the Saginaw School District near Northbrook Elementary. Day Care is closed during bad weather and when schools are closed. I am open all summer unless for a long week- end or Holidays such as 4th of July, Memorial Day, this varies. Also at some point will need vacation.  I am close to 820-35W and service hours other day cares can not accommodate. If you are an employer where your staff needs hours other day cares are closed, have them
give me a call. Prices depend on hours of service and age, and needs of the children. This is a HOME DAY CARE so please no jobs are here.

Monitored by state and Government Food Program

I am registered by the state which means I am monitored with unscheduled visits. These visits are to help keep our children safe by complying with state regulations and guidelines. I also have unscheduled visits form the Government food program.

I am now serving BIG BREAKFASTS, such as pancakes or French toast, fruit, meat or eggs, potato or toast not the same every day but a well rounded meal. Lunch is like a dinner and an afternoon snack. We make sure your children are offered scheduled healthy food and get what is required in daily veggies, fruits, dairy, meats and whole grains. I cook all the meals so if children have a hard time with veggies I will sneak them in hamburger for various meals as well.

Activities

We do activities, learning how to paint and control fine motor skills and gross motor skills. I work on children learning to write their names, know their addresses, phone numbers, ABC’s and numbers, and this all depends on their willingness to learn and ages. I have a HOA pool and parks close by .We visit on our field trips and I also will help them swim. These field trips depend on the ratios of the day care and how many are here, plus weather permitting. I have life jackets and because our kiddy pool is separate from our deeper pool this is allowed. They go in 2 ft of water. I have CPR and FIRST AID training.

We do crafts to the ability of ages. We may do a nature day or back ward shirt day. What ever will make our time from our parent’s fun? We will do painting, creating and learning. We use music and work books to learn matching, sorting and such.

Nap time

I provide 2 inch mats, pillows and blankets for nap time. My home is clean and sanitized for fewer germs with control of sickness. So these children do not get sick very much. In three years no one has gotten sick only a day here or there. If children do get sick they are sent home. Nap time is essential for the growth of their physical and mental well being. My center is closed to visitors during nap time. That is between 12:30 and 3:30pm., unless arrangements are made.

The advantage of Home Day Care is less children and more one on one attention. This is a great way to transcend children who have never been away from parents or homes to grow closer friendships in a less threatening environment.

My day is teaching potty training, preparing foods and teaching values to our children that will carry them through life. We learn manners and when taught young, will be a part of our lives. I have a computer for learning not hooked up to the internet. I teach basic computer skills. We also learn to measure and help to cook or bake. I bake and cook they help measure.

Pet

I have a nice backyard with riding toys they can scoot and play with, balls and such. We also look for bugs. My goals this year are to gain more learning with butterflies, tadpoles, and fish. I have a young three year old Shih Tze and she is our baby. She loves the children and they love her. Since she has hair not fur, allergies should not be a problem.

Pricing

My prices are comparable and less then most centers. My home is cleaner, my children have more attention. I have great food and physical activities and creative learning. I lead a women’s group doing crafts for a couple of years.

Flexibilty

I can do part time but would prefer full time as children who are in and out do can not learn as well. The part time children can be bumped out when full time children enroll since we are limited by the state of ratios. In Home Day Cares parents need a back up because I do have to take Holidays off and time for doctor appointments as well as training at times. I may not use this time but I have to have a window open for it.
